Thompson Named Ranking Member of Ways and Means Subcommittee on Tax

Washington – Today, Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04) released the following statement after he was announced as the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Tax for the Ways and Means Committee.

“Over the last two years, our country has seen a growing economy, a record number of Americans with health insurance, and historic tax credits for clean energy. This is in large part thanks to the work of the Democratic members on the Ways and Means Committee,” said Thompson. “I am honored to be named the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Tax, and I look forward to working with Subcommittee Chair Mike Kelly on the issues that matter most to the American people: lowering costs, ensuring a fair tax code, protecting our climate, and preserving lifelines like Social Security and Medicare.”
