Washington – Today Gun Violence Prevention Task Force Chairman Mike Thompson (CA-05) announced that Member-Elect Max Rose (NY-11) has joined the Task Force for the 116th Congress.
“I am honored to be joining the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force. On any given day, 96 Americans are killed by gun violence. For too long Congress has done nothing as schools, churches, concerts, and our streets have become scenes of horrific violence,” said Member-Elect Rose. “I look forward to working with Chairman Thompson and the other members of the Task Force to enact common sense legislation to ensure no parent ever has to worry that their child will be gunned down on the way to class ever again.”
“Max has been a strong advocate for his community and for helping to keep New Yorkers safe from gun violence throughout his career and I am proud to add his voice to our Task Force,” said Chairman Thompson. “Together, we will pass legislation that helps stem the tide of gun violence so our constituents are safer.”
