Today, Congressman Mike Thompson (CA-04) released the following statement endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris’ candidacy for President of the United States:
“Vice President Harris will make an outstanding commander-in-chief. From day one in office, Vice President Harris worked alongside President Biden to bring our country back from a devastating pandemic, building our economy into one that is now the envy of the world.
“Every step of her career has prepared the Vice President for the Oval Office. She was the District Attorney of San Francisco, she was Attorney General of California, she was California's U.S. Senator, and now she is Vice President of the United States of America. I’ve seen Vice President Harris’ skilled leadership firsthand as we worked together to pass landmark gun violence prevention policies, deliver disaster assistance and wildfire relief, and meet challenges important to agriculture in our district.
“Vice President Harris has always and will continue to champion the safety and freedom of the American people. The Vice President has my full support in her bid for the Presidency and I have full confidence that as our nominee, she will defeat Donald Trump this November.”
