Thompson Joins 153 Colleagues to Urge Trump Administration to Clarify List of Frozen Investing in America Projects
Washington – Today, Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04) announced he joined 153 colleagues in sending a letter to the Trump Administration after President Trump issued an executive order on his first day in office that could pause all disbursements of Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) funding immediately. The Administration has not yet clarified which projects, programs, and activities are frozen. The letter urges the Trump Administration to disclose a full list of these frozen initiatives.
Thompson Reappointed to Serve on Migratory Bird Conservation Commission
Washington – Today, Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04) was reappointed by Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries to serve on the bipartisan Migratory Bird Conservation Commission. Thompson is one of four members of Congress to serve on the prestigious commission.
"It is a tremendous honor to be reappointed to the Migratory Bird Conservation Commission," said Thompson. "As a longtime waterfowler and conservationist, I am proud to once again be part of this commission to continue our work protecting and preserving our country’s great wetlands and diverse wildlife."
Thompson Releases Statement on Freezing of Federal Funds

“It’s alarming that the Administration has taken action to indefinitely and indiscriminately freeze important federal funds. These funds were lawfully appropriated by Congress and are owed to the American people. In freezing them, the Administration has unleashed chaos on states, localities, American families, nonprofits, and businesses across our country.
Thompson, Kelly Introduce Short Line Railroad Tax Credit Modernization Act
Washington -- Today, Ranking Member of the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Tax, Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA-04), and Chairman of the Ways & Means Subcommittee on Tax, Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA-16), announced the introduction of the Short Line Railroad Tax Credit Modernization Act, legislation that would make it easier to keep local rail lines operating and in good repair and improve commerce in communities nationwide.
