Thompson, Padilla, LaMalfa Press for Swift Implementation of Law to Deliver Tax Relief for Wildfire Survivors
Washington – Today, Representative Mike Thompson (D-CA-04) and U.S. Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA) and Representative Doug LaMalfa (R-CA-01) released a letter urging the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to take immediate actions to implement their bipartisan legislation providing critical tax relief for wildfire victims. President Biden recently signed the Federal Disaster Tax Relief Act into law.
Thompson Releases Statement on House's Continuing Resolution
Washington – Today, Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04) released the following statement on the House’s passage of a Continuing Resolution:
“Tonight, I voted to avoid a potentially disastrous government shutdown ahead of the holidays.
“Since October, Democrats and Republicans negotiated in good faith to develop a bipartisan bill to fund our government. Republicans set the total amount of funding in the bill. Yet hours before we were set to pass that bill, Elon Musk and President-elect Trump intervened to kill it.
